My Mentor/Boss

Nick Dendinger

Nick is the Head Pro at Mohawk Country Club. He is married to his wife Amy, and they have two beautiful children together, Charlotte and Harrison. Nick has been the head pro for two years now and before that he was an assistant pro and went to college down in Florida. Nick does indeed love his job but as him and I talked more and more over the summer I found out just how hard being a Pro is. Before I was hired Nick was spending 7 days a week out at the course working 12+ hours a day.

With Nick being the family man he is, he found this challenging because he felt like he was missing on his kids growing up. He loves being able to work at a golf course and doing what he loves but wishes there was more of a balance. That is where I came in! Nick taught me a lot! He taught me how to clean clubs, pick the range, work the pro shop, bar tend, put on events, and even hit a golf ball! Overall Nick was a great mentor and really showed me how hard a job like his could be, that it is not just playing golf all day like I thought. He did not sugar coat anything which is what I liked most about him, he was kind yet firm, and was super funny at times too.
